2 Cup fresh curds
2 pinches turmeric powder
1 tsp Cumin (jeera) seeds
1 tsp Mustard Seeds
salt to taste
Red chilli powder to taste
2 tsps chopped coriander leaves.
2 tsps oil
How to prepare Thayir / Curd curry?
Whisk the Home made fresh curds with the hand blender lightly so that it looks like a thick batter.
Heat oil in a small fry pan and splutter mustard and cumin seeds.
Now add the chilli powder and the turmeric powder.
Remove the pan off from the heat.
Pour the seasoning / Tadka on the top of the yoghurt.
Garnish it with chopped coriander and serve as a side dish along with plain rice and vegetables.
Points to Note
Do not add water as the consistency will become thin. The curry should be thick.
Anyway, if you like a thinner consistency and the curds are a way too thick then add a little water.
