Rajma Curry Recipe, Punjabi style

This Rajma Curry is a tasty dish when served with hot and steaming rice. I always make it at home. When you are cooking Rajma / Kidney beans , please do add a little more red chilli powder and tomatoes than you usually add for the recipe.  Only then it will tastes nice, otherwise the whole dish will be bland.  Adjust chilli powder and garam masa;la as per your taste.

Ingredients needed for Rajma Curry Recipe
2 cup Rajma soaked overnight or at least for 8 hours
3 cups onion chopped nicely
4 cup tomatoes chopped
1 tsp ginger paste
1 tsp garlic paste
3 tsps red chilli powder
5-6 red chillies
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp garam masala powder
1/4 cup oil
4-5 cups water,  as per your taste / consistency

How to prepare Rajma Curry Recipe in the pressure cooker?
Heat oil in the pressure pan. Add  whole red chillies and fry a minute.
Add the chopped onions. Saute till the onions get golden.
Then add ginger and garlic paste, fry for a minute.
Add  chopped tomatoes, red chilli powder and salt to taste.
Cook till the tomatoes turn soft and all the masala blends well together. Add the cleaned and soaked kidney beans and water.
Pressure cook till the beans get cooked and tender. That is after the first whistle, simmer the flame and cook for 20 minutes.
Put out the fire and let thye pressure pan come to room temperature by itself. Do not try to open the cooker before it cools down.
Sprinkle the garam masala powder. Serve hot either with hot steaming rice  or Rotis.
