Vazhappindi / Plantain Stem Pachadi

Ingredients needed for Vazhappindi Pachadi
1  small piece Vazhappindi / Plantain stem, cut into rounds

Grind to a smooth paste
1/2  cup grated coconut
1 pinch cumin seeds
2-3 small onions

To temper the pachadi
a tsp oil
a pinch mustard seeds
1 red chilli broken into bits

How to prepare Vazhappindi Pachadi: 
Cut vazhappindi / the plantain stem in to rounds and cook till tender with a pinch of salt and turmeric powder.
Remove the extra strings if any and then grind to a coarse paste in the mixie.
Grind coconut, jeera and onions to a smooth paste
Mix the paste with the beaten curds and the vazhappindi paste. Mix well.
Temper with oil, mustard, red chillies and curry leaves.
