Ingredients needed for the stuffed Ragi Ada :
750 grams Sprouted & powdered Ragi / panjappul podi
2 1/2 cups Soya Milk
salt to taste
Ingredients needed for the Filling
200 grams Sprouted Moong
300 gram meen mutta ( fish eggs ) / pananjil
2 handful small onions, chopped fine
2-3 flakes garlic chopped fine
1 small piece ginger, chopped fine
4 green chillies, chopped fine
1/2 tsp pepper powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
1/2 tsp chat Masala
1/4 tsp Kasoori Methi ( dried fenugreek leaves )
1 tbsp oil
How to prepare stuffed ragi ada
Knead sprouted Ragi flour and soya milk together with a little salt into dough like consistency as for chappathies.
Keep aside for at least half an hour.
Heat oil in a fry pan, add all the chopped ingredients. Saute for a while or till the ingredients get golden.
Then add the fish eggs / pananjil and sramble till the eggs get cooked.
Add the sprouted moong to the pan and mix well.
Add salt to taste , turmeric powder, garam masala powder. chat masala powder, pepper powder and kasoori methi.
Cover and simmer for a minute or two till all the ingredients mix well and the filling is ready.
Keep an idli steamer or a pressure cooker on the stove with a little water.
Roll out a poori like circle and then put the filling inside. Fold it and paste ther ends nicely so that the filling doesn't come out.
Steam in an Appa chembu, Steamer or Pressure cooker without weight for about 10 minutes or till the ada gets cooked.
Serve as a snack or morning breakfast.
