Prawn Tomato Rice Recipe

Ingredients needed for Prawn Tomato Rice
2 cups basmathi rice
1 tbsp butter
2 cloves
2 cardamoms
1 piece cinnamon
1 tsp chopped garlic
2 tbsp chopped onion
3-4 green chillies chopped
1/2 tsp lime juice
Salt to taste
1 cup deveined and cleaned prawns
5 tomatoes chopped fine
2 tsps chopped coriander leaves
1 tsp ghee (optional)

How to prepare Prawns Tomato Rice
Clean and soak basmathi rice for half an hour. Drain and keep aside.
Place a thick bottommed vessel on fire, add butter. As the butter melts add the whole garam masala.
As the whole garam masala splutters add chopped garlic and fry for a minute.
Then add chopped onions and chopped green chillies, fry till they are golden.Add soaked and drained rice to this and mix well. The rice should get hot to the touch.
Add 3 cups of water to the pan, and salt to taste.
When the rice gets three fourths done add the cleaned prawns, chopped tomatoes.
Mix well, cover and simmer till the rice gets completely cooked, by that time prawns would also have got tender.
Sprinkle lime juice on top and a spoon of ghee with chopped coriander leaves to garnish.

Points to Note:
As a variation to this recipe you can add squid cut into rounds and added just like the way you add prawns.
This rice can be served with any spicy curry like Chicken / Mutton pepper fry and Raita.
