Tasty and innovative Sandwich Fillings

Sandwiches are easy to make and are filling too as in between meal time foods or snacks. There is no point in eating deep fried snacks like Bhajji, Pakodas, Bonda etc. Sandwiches are healthier and filling too when compared to other snacks.

1. Ham and cheese sandwich :  A slice of ham and a slice of cheese on a buttered toast, seasoned with pepper or mustard sauce or mayonnaise . Cover with another toast and grill for a minute in the Microwave or until it turns golden.

2. Chicken Mayonnaise Sandwich : Add cooked chicken mince, chopped nuts and fruits if you like. Add salt and pepper to taste. Spread it on a toast and put another toast on top of that and micro for a minute or two till it is golden. Or you can put the same filling inside the bread slices and make sandwich toasts using a sandwich toaster.

3. Chocolate syrup on Toast : Spread chocolate syrup on to a toast , sprinkle chopped nuts and cover it with another chocolate layered toast. Cut it in to diamonds and serve.

4. Sandwiches with coriander and Mint chutneys: Make green chutney with coriander or Mint and use it as a filling with mixed vegetables on a slice of bread and cover it with another slice and make sandwich toasts.

5. Grilled Chicken Apple sandwich : you can mix chopped grilled or tandoori chicken pieces  with grated carrots, celery, chopped apple on crisp lettuce. Spread them in between the whole grain bread slices , toast them either on the tava / sandwich maker.

6. Salmon and cucumber sandwich :  Cook or fry the fish pioeces, debone and crumble the fish. Mix up with peeled and chopped cucumber, mayonnaise, lime juice and thick hung curds . Mix well , apply on the insides of the buns or two / three bread slices . bake or grill them till done.

7. Good old Peanut butter sandwich:  For a new version of the Peanut butterSandwich, you can add nuts, crunchy carrots chopped, chopped grapes  and honey mixed together. Apply over the bread slices, grill or bake and present it to the kids.
